Experimental and Numerical Investigations of RC Frame Stability Failure under a Corner Column Removal Scenario

In recent decades, interest in the resistance of buildings and structures to progressive collapse has been increasingly sparked research communities. Although several experimental, numerical, analytical projects on robustness building frames under a column removal scenario have implemented, some aspects this problem remain understudied. These encompass failure mechanisms reinforced concrete with slender columns, as well criteria used evaluate such failures. This paper focuses experimental numerical investigations structural behavior scale frame columns sudden corner scenario. addition, we analyze stability mechanism tangent stiffness criterion, which allow for evaluation ultimate state structure subjected an accidental impact. A physical model multistory was designed tested using theory functional similarity. For study purposes, finite element made that exactly same test frame.
